Almost everything. Water arriving through a floor drain during heavy rain is the public sewer surcharging, which means it is Category 3 and carries sewage. That is a different scope from a foundation leak: disinfection, porous material removal, and a backwater valve conversation rather than exterior drainage.
Is a sump pump enough on flat ground?
A sump handles groundwater rising under the slab. It does nothing about a sewer line pushing water backward into the house, because that arrives under pressure through the fixture side. The two failures look identical on the floor and need completely different fixes, which is why identifying the entry path comes first.
The tunnels are being dug. Does that mean this stops?
It reduces overflow volume over time, but the connection at your house is unchanged until the local branch is relieved. Deep storage helps the system as a whole; it does not add capacity to the lateral serving one address. Plan on the property side of the problem staying yours.
