Mold Removal & Remediation in Fairhope, AL

Containment, HEPA filtration, and antimicrobial treatment eliminate mold colonies at the source and prevent cross-contamination throughout the property. Mold remediation removes affected porous materials and corrects the moisture source that allowed growth. The work is done under containment with HEPA filtration so spores are not carried into unaffected rooms, and the area is cleared only once the underlying moisture problem has been resolved.

Remediation is the step after the assessment, not before it. A local pro establishes how far the growth extends and what is feeding it, because removing what is visible while the moisture source is still running puts the same colony back in the same wall. Texas and several other states also set a square-footage point above which the work has to be done by a licensed remediator — the service note below covers where that line falls in this city.

Frequently asked questions

We are up on the bluff. Why would a tropical July still wet the slab?

Height above the bay only helps the lots that actually fall toward the water. Plenty of houses sit on the back side of the bluff, where the grade runs inland and a 9-inch month has no outlet. Red clay under those pads swells shut after the first storm, so later rain sheets to the slab edge. The bay is scenery from the porch; it is not drainage for that lot.

The rain stopped two days ago and the wall is still wet. Is something still leaking?

Not necessarily. Air coming off the bay in July is already near saturation, so evaporation from a wet brick or vinyl face is slow even after the gauge goes quiet. A wall that took an afternoon storm can still be damp on the third morning without a roof leak. Fans and dehumidification change that; waiting for a dry breeze off the water usually does not.

The house is from the late 1990s. Should the clay under the pad still matter?

The pad is young; the clay is not. Coastal red clay here takes a July deluge, swells, and stops accepting more, which sends the rest of the month along the top of the soil to the nearest edge — the foundation. A 1998 slab with no perimeter drain is as exposed as an older one once that clay has closed. Age of the house does not age the ground.
