Testing & Assessment

Mold Inspection & Testing in Mount Plymouth, FL

An assessor determines whether mold is present, identifies where it is growing, and measures how far it has spread — before any remediation quote is issued. A mold inspection locates moisture and growth that a room-level look would miss, reading wall cavities, subfloor, and the areas behind finished surfaces. The result is a scope: what is affected, what has to come out, and what is driving the moisture.

Local contractors · findings documented for your claim

Most people reach this page after noticing something rather than after something broke: a smell that returns, a stain that spreads, a room that feels damp. An inspection answers what is actually there and where the moisture comes from, which is the information every later decision depends on. Several states, Texas among them, keep assessment and remediation as separate licensed roles specifically so the party identifying the problem is not the party selling the fix. Nothing here is medical advice — if you have health questions, those are for a clinician.

Frequently asked questions

The lake has no river out of it. Where does August rain go?

Up. These are closed basins in the sand, so a 9.92 inch month raises the lake and the table under the rim lots together. A 1991 slab on that shore is then sitting in a bathtub that will not empty until the dry season. There is no ditch and no downstream canal to wait on. The water leaves by seepage and evaporation, which is slow.

The yard sand drinks a storm in minutes. Why is the slab still damp?

Because under the sand there is often a clay lens. Water that vanished from the grass is perched on that lens, and a slab on it sits in a pocket the surface never showed. August just fills the pocket. A dry lawn here is a poor guide to what is under the pad.

The septic is on the lake side. Does that change a wet-season job?

It can. Leach lines in this sand need a dry envelope, and when the lake is up the envelope is gone, so effluent moves sideways toward the slab. A musty room on the water side of a 1991 house in September is sometimes the drain field, not the roof. The lake and the septic share the same sand.
