Mold Removal & Remediation in Bowman, GA

Containment, HEPA filtration, and antimicrobial treatment eliminate mold colonies at the source and prevent cross-contamination throughout the property. Mold remediation removes affected porous materials and corrects the moisture source that allowed growth. The work is done under containment with HEPA filtration so spores are not carried into unaffected rooms, and the area is cleared only once the underlying moisture problem has been resolved.

No obligation: the assessment comes before any scope

Remediation is the step after the assessment, not before it. A local pro establishes how far the growth extends and what is feeding it, because removing what is visible while the moisture source is still running puts the same colony back in the same wall. Texas and several other states also set a square-footage point above which the work has to be done by a licensed remediator — the service note below covers where that line falls in this city.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the crawl space wetter in winter here when it rains more in summer elsewhere?

Because the wet season here is the cold one. The heaviest month is December, and rain that falls then lands on ground that gets almost no sun and stays near freezing. With granite a few feet down, the water cannot drain away, and with the temperatures low it cannot evaporate either. The same rain in July would be gone in three days; in December it is still there in February, and the crawl space sits in it the whole time.

Should the crawl space vents be closed in winter?

On this ground, usually yes, with a ground cover under the house. Open vents in a wet December pull saturated cold air under the floor, where it meets the warm underside of the house and condenses. Closing them stops that exchange, but only if the soil below is covered so it is not adding moisture from underneath. Vents open and soil bare is the worst combination for a winter like this one.

The house is on the low side of the street. Does the granite make that worse?

It does, because the rock turns the ground into a shallow tray. Water from the uphill lots soaks the thin soil, hits the granite, and moves along the rock surface downhill toward the low side. A house there receives its own roof water plus everything from above, and the footings, which on this rock are often shallow, sit right in that flow. Intercepting the water uphill of the house is the only thing that reliably keeps it out.
