Mold Removal & Remediation in De Smet, ID

Containment, HEPA filtration, and antimicrobial treatment eliminate mold colonies at the source and prevent cross-contamination throughout the property. Mold remediation removes affected porous materials and corrects the moisture source that allowed growth. The work is done under containment with HEPA filtration so spores are not carried into unaffected rooms, and the area is cleared only once the underlying moisture problem has been resolved.

The pro who inspects is the pro who quotes

Remediation is the step after the assessment, not before it. A local pro establishes how far the growth extends and what is feeding it, because removing what is visible while the moisture source is still running puts the same colony back in the same wall. Texas and several other states also set a square-footage point above which the work has to be done by a licensed remediator — the service note below covers where that line falls in this city.

Frequently asked questions

January rain is less than four inches. Why does the floor feel wet until March?

Because it falls on frozen ground. Palouse loess cannot take rain while it is frozen, so the January total runs under the home and sits. At thaw the same silt holds that water like a sponge, and a shallow crawl or a skirted floor is over it for weeks. The annual total looks modest. The timing — rain on freeze, then a slow thaw — is what keeps the underside wet until spring.

Should the skirting on a manufactured home be sealed against that January runoff?

Sealed skirting traps it. The water is already under the home because the frozen loess will not take it; tight skirting then holds humid air against the floor. Vent the skirting, put a ground cover down, and grade so January rain goes past the pad rather than under it. The freeze-and-thaw cycle is the climate. The skirting is the detail that either lets the floor dry or keeps it wet.

A wet weather spring appears at the downhill edge every thaw. Is that the St. Joe, or the lot?

It is the lot on loess. Water that ran on frozen ground all winter comes out at the first opening in the thaw, often a downhill property line, and looks like a spring. It is last January's rain leaving. If that line is at the home, the crawl takes it. A shallow diversion on the uphill side, cut before freeze-up, keeps that pulse off the pad. Digging a deeper well at the 'spring' does not stop a seasonal seep.
