Sewage & Black Water Cleanup in Deale, MD
Category 3 black-water losses are handled with full PPE, biohazard disposal, and professional disinfection to restore safe conditions. Sewage backups are Category 3 losses: the water carries pathogens, so affected porous materials are removed rather than dried. The area is cleaned, disinfected, and dried under containment, with cut lines set above the visible contamination mark.

Frequently asked questions
The crawl space is damp even in a dry spell. Why?
Because the water beneath it is tidal rather than rain-fed. On a low neck between creeks the table sits close to the surface all the time and moves with the tide, so the ground under the floor is never really dry. Rainfall raises it briefly, but removing the rain would not lower it much. The moisture source is under the house continuously.
Would closing the crawl vents help or hurt?
It depends on whether the ground is dealt with first. Bay air through a warm season is often more humid than the crawl, so open vents can add moisture rather than remove it. But closing vents over damp ground traps what is evaporating from below. The order matters: control the ground moisture with a sealed floor covering, and the vent decision becomes much less consequential either way.
The house was a summer cottage. Does that still matter?
It matters a great deal. Seasonal construction assumed the house would be open and unheated for much of the year and dry itself out. Once occupied year-round with heating and cooling, the same shallow foundation and uninsulated floor are asked to manage a temperature difference they were never built for, and condensation appears in places that were fine for decades.
