Waterville sits at Ticonic Falls, above tide. Brunswick sits where the Androscoggin is already brackish on its way to Merrymeeting Bay. October totals are similar. The outlet is not. Their mill cellars fail on river and ice. These fail on tide-locked clay. Same state, different end of the river.
