Yes. The Dakota city sits on a poorly incised prairie river and glacial till. This one is a Chautauqua Lake outlet mill town on the Allegheny Plateau, 1938 stock, lake-effect winters. Copying a James River till playbook would miss the Chadakoin, the lake table, and the furniture-block cellars.
The lake is a few miles up the outlet. Why does it still wet downtown?
