Mold Removal & Remediation in Carroll, OH

Containment, HEPA filtration, and antimicrobial treatment eliminate mold colonies at the source and prevent cross-contamination throughout the property. Mold remediation removes affected porous materials and corrects the moisture source that allowed growth. The work is done under containment with HEPA filtration so spores are not carried into unaffected rooms, and the area is cleared only once the underlying moisture problem has been resolved.

The pro who inspects is the pro who quotes

Remediation is the step after the assessment, not before it. A local pro establishes how far the growth extends and what is feeding it, because removing what is visible while the moisture source is still running puts the same colony back in the same wall. Texas and several other states also set a square-footage point above which the work has to be done by a licensed remediator — the service note below covers where that line falls in this city.

Frequently asked questions

The creek is well below the village. Why does it affect the cellars?

The ground under the village is connected to it. The bottomland here is floodplain soil, and when the creek rises after a June storm the water in that soil rises with it, in or out of its banks. A stone cellar dug into that ground a century ago sits below the level the creek reaches in a storm, and the water comes through the joints. The creek does not have to flood the street to fill the cellar.

What does it mean that the village was built on the canal?

It means some of the ground is not natural. When the canals were abandoned they were filled with whatever was available, and houses and streets were later built over that fill. It settles unevenly, and a cellar wall sitting partly on fill and partly on original ground cracks along the line between them. Those cracks are where water enters when the ground is wet. A straight-line crack rather than a random one often shows where the canal ran.

Our downspouts end at the foundation. Is that a problem on a lot this flat?

On a flat lot it is the main problem. With no natural fall to carry water away, the roof water from a June storm lands beside the cellar wall and soaks straight down into it. A stone cellar with no footing drain has no defense against that. Extending each downspout so the water lands several feet from the house, on ground that falls even slightly away, takes more water off the wall than any repair to the wall itself.
