Both, and they are easy to mix. Spray wets the windward skin. The table wets the slab from below, set by the swash and the Intracoastal whether or not the surf is up. A dry windward wall and a wet floor is groundwater. A stained siding and a dry slab is spray. September often delivers both at once.

The tide has the outfalls. September rain lands here while the water is high enough to drown the strand's only discharge points, so the sand holds it until the tide falls. On Intracoastal lots the canal is the water table on a fair day, so the ground starts from higher up.
