On karst, routinely. Limestone carries water through seams rather than filtering it evenly, so the entry and the exit can be a long way apart. Surface grading around the house tells you very little about where subsurface water will appear after a May storm.

As flood, only on the lowest streets when the gap backs up. As the reason this limestone is so hollowed, yes. The bench problem is the seam under the crawlspace. The ridge problem is the cut. Three May stains can have three mechanisms.
The subdivision is from the 1980s. Should karst still be a consideration?
Yes. Age of the house is not age of the rock. A 1985 crawlspace on a bench can sit over a conduit that runs after every May cell. Closing the vents to save heat then traps what the limestone is already adding.
