Area is not capacity. A May cell can drop the month's water faster than a wide swale and a long driveway can move it, and a slab-on-grade ranch has no below-grade room to take the overflow. Ponding at the edge is the lot losing a race with intensity, not a small yard. The water that cannot leave goes under the floor.
