The house sits on the old marsh ring. Is that a different extraction job from the isthmus?
Different ground, different water. Peat and fill around the lakes settle, hold volume, and keep a basement wet in months the isthmus sand would have drained. Original tile that worked when the house was new may now sit in a sag and no longer fall. Extraction still removes the standing water; the lasting fix is restoring a drain path the peat has dropped, not a sand-lot detail that assumes the ground still falls.
The original drain tile is still there. Why is the floor wet after a high-lake week?
Presence is not fall. Peat settlement can leave the pipe in the ground while the run no longer slopes to an outfall, so lake-stage water sits against the wall with nowhere to go. An open-looking tile at the house does not prove the line still carries.
