A 2004 crawl often sits in a former field swale or a fencerow that still collects May's 5.76 inches, and the ditches that once drained those fields have silted since the tracts went in. Old Hickory then holds the outlet up from below. New construction bought a better wall and inherited the farm's drainage.
The house is not on the water. Why would Old Hickory still wet a crawl?
The lake sets the outlet for every swale. When it is high, a 2004 crawl in a former fencerow is the new low point. Shoreline is not required. If the lake is high, a crawl toward White House in a former fencerow is the unused capacity, dock or not.
