Water Damage Restoration

Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Commercial dehumidifiers and air movers remove moisture from the structure, with daily readings logged from the material itself for claim documentation.

What it is

Drying returns building materials to their normal moisture content. It is a physics problem rather than a waiting problem: water leaves a material into the air touching it, so the work is about controlling that air - its temperature, its humidity and its movement - not about leaving fans running and hoping.

When it is needed

After extraction, and after any event where water reached framing, subfloor, insulation or the back of drywall. A floor that feels dry underfoot routinely still holds enough moisture to cup or stain, which is why the decision to stop belongs to a meter rather than to how the room looks or smells.

What it typically involves

Air movers push air across wet surfaces to speed evaporation, and dehumidifiers pull that evaporated water back out of the air so it does not simply redeposit somewhere colder. The two only work as a pair: fans alone move damp air around a building and can drive moisture into places it had not reached. Readings are logged at the same points daily, and the job ends when those points reach a dry standard rather than on a scheduled date. Equipment commonly runs three to five days, though a dense material like hardwood or plaster can take considerably longer, and forcing that timeline is how cupped floors and trapped moisture happen.
